BST were asked to design a range of subtle effects and hidden detection systems for a spectacular folly within the grounds of a famous 5-star hotel in Somerset.
The grotto is lined with 300,000 hand-cut and individually placed natural crystals and in the centre is a pool where the Wyvern lives (a mythological two-legged dragon!).
All is quiet and serene when you first enter the underground labyrinth, but BST’s clever arrangement of proximity and movement sensors detect the presence and location of each visitor and trigger subtle effects when they are nearby.
Effects include audio tracks, low-level fog effects that fill the cavern and create a subtle mist across the pond where the dragon is basking, LEDs, within the eyes of bats hanging from the roof and the dragon to roar and breathe fire!
